Summit of Mt Popa at 1518 meters. There is a small temple and a radio microwave tower at the top. It took us 2 hours to trek from Popa Mountain resort (half way) to the summit. Popa Mountain Resort is reached by car. People can also climb starting from the Popa village near the foot. Near the summit there is a machinery station in which staff of the radio station and telecommunication company take duty in shift. Crew change takes place on week-ends. We made a phone call to Yangon from here. |
