Bathing elephants in a river stream at a camp in Taungoo district, Bago division. Elephant timber camps are scattered around in the Bago range between Taungoo on the East and Pyay on the West. They are moving time by time to take new assignment in new plot. These camps are not prepared to host tourists since they do not have proper tourist facilities. However by contacting the relevant timber company, often a month ahead and then few days before the visit to locate the exact where about, these camps could be visited. Few special camps have been set up complete with accommodation just for the sole purpose of demonstration for the tourists. Jan 2006 |
