Kyegaung border check point between China's Yunnan and Myanmar's Shan state. Shwe Li or Yuli river flows between Muse (Shan state) and Ruli (Yunnan) towns. Foreign tourists can ask their Myanmar travel agent or tour operator to apply for a permit for them to travel across this border. Up to 2004 the permit application needs documents such as passport copies, travel itinerary, photos. Tourists need to carry photos and passport copies, and have to travel with a Myanmar guide inside Shan state.
